Miss Tourism Rwenzori is a beauty pageant that seeks a human face to promote Uganda’s most endowed touristic region, the Rwenzori region; both locally & internationally.

The 6th Edition of the Miss Tourism Queen of Rwenzori is on and the beauty Queen shall be crowned on 1st July, 2023 during the launch of the Rwenzori Theluji Festival.

The crowning is part of the activities for the forthcoming Rwenzori Theluji Festival an annual tourism and bussiness expo that also features the famous Tuskerlite Mt Rwenzori marathon.

Doreen Queen Biira the brand manager Miss Tourism Rwenzori and former beauty Queen (2017 – 2028) revealed that one of the roles of the beauty Queen is to promote domestic tourism in the Rwenzori sub region and Uganda at large.

“The other roles performed by the beauty Queen are to gear conservation projects through community sensitisations, and to emulate / promote Culture in the region,” she said.

She adds that for one to present her self for the auditions, they must be female above the age of 18, with a passion to learn and promote tourism.

“Atleast one of their parents should be a native or a born in one of the districts of Rwenzori sub region,” Biira added.

Application submission deadline is 30 May, 2023 and crowning Date 1st July, 2023.
